Ontario's middle east | Have never paid much attention to the short dated options. Does the delta improve much on the short dated new crop? I'm not a big options guy either but we do hedge minimum price contracts with calls. Typically I keep guys no more than one futures month out. That reduces time premium, increases the delta and if he wants to keep rowing the boat along later we can flip him into say the K later and if the market has dropped 40c, his old call is virtually worthless but he has savings that he can apply to the K call and own something a lot closer to the money. In that scenario the K option would be virtually worthless approaching H expiration. | |
