Death comes to us all. Life's but a walking shadow | I listened quite closely to what he said on Commodity Week. I interpreted him to say that on balance between the positives and negatives he put the bean crop at about 95 MMT but there were some caveats. They were: If Parana dried up and stayed dry enough to finish planting and if regular rain returned to Mato Grosso. He also cautioned about the second corn crop if central Brazil stayed dry. He said if the rains stopped early they could end up with nothing but a cover crop.
Kory Melby also had some concerns. He quite clearly said the early crop soybeans was variable, those who received rain have reasonable yields, those who didn't were disappointed.
As far as I can tell we don't know the answer yet but it's likely Brazil will make a crop but just how much isn't obvious yet. Let's not get in such a hurry here. |
