Think of the pile ups driverless cars would have during the winter! How are they going to get wrong that?


The roads aren't snowy or icy every day. There are some parts of the country which never have snow or ice. I would imagine that there would be safeguards built into the technology to not allow driverless vehicles to operate if road conditions were bad. It would take integration between weather forecasts, local road conditions, etc. I imagine flooded roads could be problematic as well. As issues are identified, system designers will figure out a way to deal with them.
