West of Mpls MN about 50 miles on Hwy 12
You said this is 180 bu corn ground. Let's just see if we can money on one acre.

180 bu./acre x $3.50/bu.? = $630.00/acre total gross revenue x 50% = $315.00 your share of gross revenue.

$315.00 - $50.00/acre extra rent = $265.00/acre total gross revenue to pay all your expenses and labor.

$265.00 - $170.00 your out of pocket expenses - $12.60 drying - $18.00 trucking - $82.00 machine = (17.60) Which means you will LOSE $17.60/acre. Add that $50.00/acre extra rent back you will make $32.40/acre.

IA state custom rates...Custom Farming Corn (tillage, planting, pest control, harvesting, and hauling to farm, no drying)
Range Custom Farming (tillage, planting, pest control, harvesting, and hauling to farm, no drying)
Average Corn, $136.50/ acre
Range Corn, / acre $82.00-$185.0

drying - .07 x 180 = $12.60/acre my cost this year

trucking - .10 x 180 = $18.00/acre best guess?

I hope this helps. These numbers are real, I've been doing this farming thing a long time.

Never, ever think you want to so bad you're willing to pay to do it. Good Luck.
