| Gleaner and Massey owned the custom business back in the day...but Gleaner brought out the N series a little too soon. Had major issues with reliability, engine failures in the N6 iirc, due to just pushing too many horses. Stopped production of the L hurt market share, too.
The final blow was that In the early 80's, factory put huge discounts on the new machines, making them cost about what all the just traded for machines did. They financially ruined a big part of their dealer network, which has never recovered. Lots of customers lost their equity overnight, too.
Today, they have a refined machine, for the most part, but do not have a very good solution for data collection, steering, etc., having been through a couple of different partners over the years.
