NE Indiana | I couldn't hardly follow that but your idea of me is way wrong. We farm 600 acres most of it rented. Think we are pretty far away from wanting to farm all the ground for nothing. All I'm getting at is if you do a true 50/50 agreement I don't see how that is favorable for the landowner when other guys around are paying 220 per acre. My idea was to get the landowner to lean more towards a 50/50 deal instead of just taking the highest bidder and watching his ground get raped. And for a small guy it makes more financial sense to try to get the 50/50 to work because that would be less money risked by the small farmer. Maybe that's just my mindset because we don't farm for huge profits it's more of a hobby thing since we all have off farm jobs. Would love to farm more ground but we aren't going to do it for a loss paying outrageous rents for 180 bu/ac corn ground | |
