Two races on the planet with intense, ingrained hatred towards each other. I thought it was a pretty clever way of illustrating racism based on skin colour in an alien society without drawing uncomfortable parallels here on earth. In the end, the pair returned to their planet only to find the two races completely destroyed each other. The two continue fighting nonetheless.
