| That sounds like an episode from the TV series "Buck Rogers in the 25th Century", starring Gil Gerald and aired for not quite 2 seasons in 1979-81. Remember watching reruns daily after school. The episode was the very last aired, called "The Dorian Secret". On this planet, ages ago, a gene-altering disease made all males look identical and females likewise. The custom and law made masks mandatory to differentiate people.
