I am an Ag Lender. Cash is King but very few have it. Positive working capital is always good, but many farmers today currently have negative WC. As long as they have sufficient Equity to term out their annual losses, we can continue the LOC another year. It is the ones that do not have much if any Equity to fall back on that will have problems finding financing. I have a few customers in their 60's who are wondering if they should continue farming, while burning up equity, or quit now and preserve what equity (wealth) they still have.
I have a question for you. Are you still loaning money to the farmers that have a negative working capital? |
