If your hoppers aren't working like they should the electric openers are a band aid, you need to have your hoppers in good shape. We have had a couple sets and have none now, or biggest complaint is we do alot of winter hauling and it was a never ending problem maintaining the wires/connections being down that low and exposed to all the road grime/salt, they are great when they work though!
