Intermodal has a lot of obstacles. You can't load on a side rail. Only at intermodal facility. And the containers have to go overseas. They can't be delivered to US or Canadian destinations.
Then there are inspections and certifications to deal with, etc. Not the sort of thing a farmer can easily get involved in, IMO.
Has contracted directly with a rail buyer?
