Death comes to us all. Life's but a walking shadow | Pardon me but I think of working capital as funds I can access to buy supplies, pay bills and operate the farm until the next harvest. Grain in the bins count because I can turn it into cash within a couple of weeks.
I know that some of you borrow money to buy fertilizer & seed but not many here would dare do that because crop insurance will never pay enough to cover those costs and let you survive to farm another year. This year is a case in point.
Anyhow, what's the point. Are you asking how much working capital is available to producers to plant a crop this year? Less than last year is my guess. |
