I think there is a lot of assuming going on in this post. First of all, why do you want the 252. Does it come as a package deal? The 500 is very capable of doing RTK. (This is what I heard. Not a 100 percent on this) The 252 is actually going to be discontinued and they are making a new reciever that looks just like the 252 instead using the 500 gps board in it. So it is more than capable of doing RTK. Do these units have any unlocks already for them? 500 is it WAAS only or has it been unlocked for Omni* or RTK. Same with the 252. If you are planting with it, you should be using omni*. The 500 and EZ-Steer & Omni* unlocked should run around 8500 plus some for bracket and whatever else you want for extras to make moving the system easier. This system is well capable of planting. It all comes down to how good you calibrate the system and that it is on a tractor that has mechanically sound steering (as does any other brand or level of guidance).
