Not true at all. I would be very curious as to how you could logically come to that conclusion.
Seem to me, to come to that kind of conclusion, you would have to assume that the plant roots only exist in the "band", and that any nutrient applied in between the bands would forever be wasted. And none of that is true. Roots are NOT restricted to some arbitrary band. Plants will draw nutrients from pretty much the total soil profile, unless you plant in something like 10' row width. | |
