Pontiac IL | Your criticism of strip till might mean more if you ever had some experience or tried it, instead of head in clouds preconceived notions. Strip till doesn't have to be expensive ,I don't need a chisel plow, I use a smaller tractor to strip than i did to chisel. I don't need a field cultivator or finisher. I plant with same tractor that I strip with, fewer tractors in stable. Not everybody has soil that fertility can be built up to your epectations, stripping is the most efficient way for us to grow a good crop. My fuel costs are down from reduced trips , strip, plant, 2 sprayer ,sidedress and combine. Im able to plant and strip 2000 acres by my self with 1 tractor and 16 row equipment. Stripping works for us. | |
