SPP isn't in every Android device. Some manufacturers strip out that functionality. I have no idea why.
Find a Bluetooth device with SPP and see if you can pair with it. That's your best way of knowing for sure.
8 of the top 10 devices using this app are from the Samsung Galaxy series. Samsung seems to generally have good support for SPP.
