Subject: RE: 2003 F-250 mouse smell in HVAC

Northeast Nebraska
Had this problem on a 2007. Yours should be the same. Remove wipers and both cowls under winshield. The passenger side cowl is solid because that is where air is drawn in. I had to remove some black "tar" type rubberized coating to gain access to inlet. Rinsed it out with garden hose.

I believe the mouse gained access from the water drain holes that allow water from under cowl to drain into door jambs. I think mouse climbed up the door jambs. Once the nest was removed and rinsed, smell went away quickly. I also used one of the automotive type duct sanitizer sprays that you use in the vents
