NE SD | Waiting for a strike price that is different than it is the moment you sell it makes it a speculative move. Reowning those bushels on paper isn't necessarily a hedge either, but it is a good business plan if you feel there is some upside, it is done at a basis that is more narrow than typical, and it gets you out of paying commercial storage fees. I'm not sure how much upside potential there is nearby. Surely there will be a rally between now and next harvest based on weather, but when, and is it worth waiting for are the things we don't know. | |
