Work a job that requires you to pass through a Geiger counter every day and let me know how you feel when you turn out hot. That is where the LFTR's shine. It is my understanding (?) that LFTR's will consume, or burn up a lot of the spent fuel from traditional reactors. That makes this a grand slam in my book. Use up a bunch of our spent fuel / nuclear weapons in a safer reaction process, while producing more efficient energy. Is it perfect? maybe not. But better than what we have now. |
