It's all about maintaining market share right now. If the Saudis can't maintain market share, they will become irrelevant in the world. In the Middle East, Iran will become a bigger oil exporter now that relations with the U.S. have softened. There is no way the Saudis will give up market share to the Iranians so they are going to keep pumping oil like mad.
