Missouri | Most of my land is in the upper Elkhorn NRD here in Nebraska. I just talked to a board member and they formed a committee this week to figure out how to get meters on all our wells. He told me to get ready as that will be the start to limiting the amount of water we can pump. When they do that things will change a lot. Limiting how much water we pump on some of our lighter soils will take a lot of ground out of crop production. Just a guess, but if they limit our water we will lose about 40% of our current crop ground. | |
