The worse part is other countries will develop this technology and then sell us the completed reactors based off of designs we developed.  Trouble is that we will be at the bottom of the list after every other country is already in line to buy them too. We should be leading on this sort of technology and manufacturing but all we can seem to have is low wage service jobs.

It's hard to see all the stupidity we tolerate and how it holds us back from true greatness and leadership in the world.
