| I think the so called waffled "no till" coulters are just the opposite and in damp soil can turn into stamping wheels to pack the ground in the row. Flat coulters out front worked fine on my 7000 to cut the stover so the trash whippers could move the stover aside and not have any hairpinning by the opener disks. And no tilled just fine without added weights.
Its easy to add sand, iron, or steel to the insecticide boxes if you aren't using them for their original purpose to get more down force on the row unit. I used a chunk of 2" steel plate for one row on my 7000 when one of the two springs broke.
