My rearend guy adds a "no slip" to my rears when I have then worked on. I only do the rear axle, he says most every farm truck he works on puts them on. Parts is about $800. IIRC

It locks automatically when spinning.

would that be what they call a "Detroit locker"

A Detroit locker is different then a limited slip or posi rear end. Detroit locker is locked all the time and comes unlocked when turning where a limited slip only locks when one wheel spins faster then the other causing the clutch pack on it to tighten up from centripical force and provide power to the opposite wheel. Clear as mud? :)
