Really, for the $1200 they probably paid at Ritchies... run it until something goes, part it out. Tractor parts is their business. Why spend piles of money on a truck (relatively speaking, because you don't have a yard of parts trucks...), and not have spare parts around? I know it looks like ****, but it's a "specialized" machine that fits the bill. Kind of comical, but I wouldn't second-guess it, helps keep overhead lower, and in theory, parts prices will be more competitive. Sound business logic on paper.
And when the salvage lot is muddy or deep snow, that rig will get around far better than the typical 2 wd beater salvage yard pickup. :) |
