Not true.  All steel engaging the soil ultimately creates more compaction.  All steel engaging the soil causes loss of organic matter (loss of carbon as carbon dioxide), which is what creates soil structure by gluing the soil particles into water-stable aggregates.  Read 'The Biology of Soil Compaction' here:
