NE Iowa | Personally, I've never understood the use of an Aerway in cornstalks. It doesn't incorporate much residue unless you get a newer one that can be run at a steep angle. It looks like it fluffs up the residue and leaves deep pockets of loose soil along with some untouched soil. I would think that could lead to inconsistent planting depth. I vote for planting early hybrids, combining early, and spending a few dollars on drying in order to give residue a chance to breakdown more in the fall. | |
