North Central Illinois | Yep, you know what I am talking about with hiring a custom operator. With organic crop prices what they are, it doesn't take many bushels out the back to make a big $ hit.
There is the satisfaction of doing the job myself, though it ain't always so fun. Cutting wheat on a hot summer day is a miserable job. Gotta choose between sitting in a solar cooker with the doors closed, or opening the doors and sitting in the breeze getting coated with that awful, itchy chaff. Makes shelling corn feel like a picnic.
