Say we convert 1/8 of the US beef cows to confinement. How long will feed inputs stay cheap? Will hay and silage be priced like it is a major drought? What would corn cost if China expands ethanol? Feed prices double, can you still make it work selling $900-1000 calves?
Not saying it can't be done but I am saying it is a high risk venture.
