western iowa,by Denison | lot of fats around pushing 1600+=that should have been on show list-with the implants today those 1500# don't look fat-add into the first cost on the feeders-most had to push fats to heavier weights to come close to rounding up the dollars
The real killer is the negative basis on the backs of the packer-now before everyone slaughters my point of view-no pun intended-put your self on the chair trying to work thru this market at the gallatical star ship-hot seat at your job at mega killer plant-the board is giving that packer a minus $6 basis-normal to be even to $1 plus on there basis
I would really like to see Rob Cogdill add to this-maybe a guy has to approach the fat cattle market from a basis standpoint as a fat cattle seller
My point of view-the packer is behind $6 a 100cwt on fats-average weight of hf and steers at 1400 puts then behind $84 a head, thats not showing up on the balance sheet-
My gut says this cant be good-
Anytime cattle are over $120 its still a lot of money
lots of heavy cattle around-
