I do 2 ton every other year until PH is in the 6.2-6.5 range-then VRT it after that for the spots that seem to be hard to maintain.

Once we get those levels I still like to do 1 ton ahead of soybeans. Cheap compared to fertilizer and chemicals.

Also with no-till if you get behind it is hard to catch up.

N source can make a difference-AMS especially and NH3 somewhat seem to lower my levels more than 28 or 32-but they are so much cheaper it offsets the cost of the lime.
