Completely subjective thought:
Lime Is put down religiously here by most everyone. Since pH has a lot to do with nutrient availablity, might low CEC soils like I have need all the help they can get? Basically, if there is limited nutrient holding capacity within the soil, is the effect of any unavailable nutrients more pronounced? I don't know, but I have always wondered. ...

Lime is cheap here and the university puts out test results on local lime sources annually concerning effectiveness and ca/mg content. There are several options depending on your needs.
