The S&D reports in early 2007 were pointing to a soy/ corn price ratio of less than 2:1. The common idea is 2.5 is somewhat neutral. Above 3 favor beans and less than 2 favors corn. With these price ratios corn won big time when it came to planted acres. It wasn't until the planting intentions report at the end of march that the general trend was beginning to be seen about how big the acre switch was going to be.
