Subject: RE: How did the early planted corn turn out?

Central Minnesota
For me, all of my corn was planted fairly early. I had a DeKalb number that I sure wish I would have waited about a month to plant. It was fine in the majority of one of the fields, but when I got into the cold, wet peat ground, it was bad. Had around an 11k final stand on it. Had 8 rows of that on one side of the planter, and same maturity channel on the other 8 rows. Channel came up great, DeKalb had terrible emergence on that. Over 100 bpa difference with the combine.

Field conditions were great early on here. After 2014, wasn't going to sit back and wait on the calendar or warmer weather. 2014 never brought any of that, so when the fields were good here in 2015, we planted.
