Central Iowa | Agree with northmofarm, at some point there will be a chance for profit in the next 18 months. My gut says corn acres are going to be high in the traditional corn areas. Beans just don't pencil out with corn right now, although that could change by spring especially with very little fall N having been applied. Unless we get another growing season like 14/15 I would say there's little to lose with being patient. I'm expecting to sell a bunch of 16' corn in the $4.50 area, just might have to wait a little longer than I like. Beans, guess it depends on how SA shakes out and whether beans lose significant acres to corn domestically. | |
