Like I said known quality and quantity in a truckload group (one futures contract) I generally can price them with futures. Taking them to the local sale barn in gooseneck loads will NOT be as consistent by any means. Maybe we are fortunate here, I know a couple outfits that I could call this week and probably lock in a basis on March calves.

Feeder cattle futures WILL converge with the cash index though. Cash index is the average of auctions all over the country, so is the market. Now I'm sounding like Mark Wright....
