Southeast Colorado | Maybe I'm speaking out of line here Lucas but any of the homestead tax exemptions I've seen strictly allow you to utilize a reduced rate compared to the investors with multiple homes. We do not have that here by the way and pay full tax on our residence as well as a couple of rental homes we own. My Mom owns her folks house in California as well as my (deceased) Dad's folks home and pays tax on those with the homestead exemption. All that means is that it is not taxed at the investor rate. I think she pays about 50% of that rate. | |
