I put this below. Part in quotes someone else's info but from break evens I've seen on backgrounding cattle from 550# to 800#, it doesn't work. There is no premium in the market structure of futures(feeders) to do this. "The levels are at a 20 year low" so the market is not paying you to do this. The breakeven I've run shows it at about breakeven no yardage included
