Subject: RE: Agriculture's image problem

Floyd County, Iowa
I've NEVER seen land set idle because of financial troubles. There's always someone waiting to jump on it, and usually for more money. If "all farmers go bankrupt" (which is highly unlikely), things will have gone so far south that food will be only a small part of our problems.
We're not indispensable, and it takes everyone to make it work; the seed company, the agronomy suppliers, the machinery mfgrs, the elevators, the packers, the food processors, the carpenters, the auto makers, the teachers, etc, and us (farmers). None of theses would survive without the others. None is more important that the others.
