Centre county Pennsylvania, USA | This is the first year that our local Eplant has lived up to it's promise of better cash prices for central PA corn farmers. Something has changed in their buying strategy, and it's confusing the local cash corn seasonals market that has worked for us for decades. If the local Eplant survives another decade, we might consider a different (non-seasonals) market plan, it's a show-me stand-down until then.
2015 crop yields were fair to good in western PA and excellent in the state's southeast corner. NASS has PA state 2015 corn average at 150, that's about right here in central PA. |
