E.Central MN | Same here. Maybe we're missing out because we don't vacation where we could rub elbows with the movers and shakers that are rolling in the dough. The only people I know that are taking vacations to warmer weather are retired folks (farmers and teachers) and a few hard working self employed individuals that earned it. Oh yeah and a couple divorcees that were looking for husband number 3 or 4 and financing the trips with money they got from their ex-husbands. Oh, well.
That being said, anyone who has the equity/assets that a lot of farmers have invested/accumulated can probably afford to take a couple weeks off for vacation every year if that's what they want to do. That's a decision investors make all the time. Reinvest money back into the business or draw it out for personal use? Last time I checked there aren't any laws stopping the guys/gals in town from quitting their day job and becoming farmers. | |
