I would wonder why we expect general poublic too support farming anymore than we farmers support union workers, big business, ect. Truth is today a lot of farmers have a much more financilly rewarding job/career than most "workers"...Front page of AgriSuccees magazine from Farm Credit Canada has 2 young brothers who have rented 1,400 acres ,bought 750 (past 3 yrs. they bought 4 farms) ,new 20,000 sq. ft. shop....I am sure they work hard, smart and desrve that but for a guy living in a city with a big mortgage and crappy job he must wonder why gov'ts send some pretty generous payments/checks too farmers
big difference between being a worker and a owner. "You will never make it big by working for someone else"
