Subject: RE: Applying my own nh3

Farmington IL
Ive had the fertilizer delivered and dumped into one of my feed bunkers and I just load the spreader with my backhoe.
We had always done our own nh3 untill the local plant sold the toolbars maybe 5 years ago. I lose track of time. I went ahead and let them do it. It let me keep the 4wd on the ripper and gave me time to work on manure hauling and working cattle. The last 3 years, the last 2 especially, I havent been happy with the job they have done and their commitment to getting it done. The cost is secondary but important as well. In fact for many years starting in the 1960's dad and grandad did alot of custom nh3 starting out with a 806 diesel. I remember side dressing on a nice hot day with open station 1466. Had the old rope shutoffs. The good old days?
