SC Iowa | think of the marketing year as a game of many stages
right now we are in the post harvest window and it started sooner because of the fast harvest of a high quality storing crop
so this is all about getting to Jan 1, when the next stage typically begins with renewed farmer interest in marketing/moving grain during the winter months
this is then followed by the great gathering of capital to pay off last year's notes and get ready for next year
so, there may be a "marketing year", but within that we have all of these little mni-marketing cycles as well
and throw in that futures can by gyrating in various ways....
and.....and....that is why your local corn merchant's head is spinning when the finally gets back to the comfort of his hacienda at night!!
