These spots are all under pivot irrigation now.

Water never pools in these areas, they are usually in the higher parts of the fields.

The topsoil was removed when leveled, so we're trying to grow corn in the subsoil.

Compaction doesn't seem to be an issue, at least not the main issue.

I believe we need to find a way to 'jump start' the process of building new topsoil. Is there a way to do this without access to manure?

I've heard of elemental sulfer being used here too, with mixed results.

I will post some samples of these spots in other farms when i get a chance, to compare and look for patterns.
