Subject: RE: Early interseeded cover crops?

NC Indiana
The plots we had around here that were interseeded at sidedress time did not show any yield difference this year. The legume plots were seeded in March and direct planted into in May showed yield bumps in line or better than what my Channel seed rep says he saw on yield monitors in field with N dribbled on later. March planted grass plot ended up just being weeds and spayed out at side dress. This was all 1 years work locally based off of input from other regional cover crop gurus' findings in '14, but the end yield on that legume was similar. More work will be done on early seeded legumes here next year.
