Montana | I really feel cheated when the Government calls a payment a farm program payment and pays it to non farmers. Farmers without machinery, who do not raise grain . To me, that kind of a program is a way for many in congress to pay themselves or their friends who no longer farm. It may be good in some states but I bet every state has hard working young farmers who have machinery and raise crops and have very little or no base. The Base should have been set on the last ten years of farming. They did not allow a prove up of base and that is why I think the program is unfair and in so many ways devious. The People may support keeping farmers , raising crops in the USA but very few would approve of price supports being paid to rich people who do not farm,. | |
