Subject: RE: Some differences in Canada

SW Saskatchewan
Sometimes during the day I have to have my Remembrance day traditions. Watch Eric Petersen and John Gray in the 2010 version of Billy Bishop Goes to War and Listen to CBC radio to hear "And the Band played Waltzing Mathilda".

In WWI, 1 in every 10 Canadians served in the Canadian Forces and 1 in 10 of this died.

Newfoundland(then a separate Country) had nearly all of their Expeditionary force wiped out in a single battle.

Gallipoli was as bloody an event for the Anzacs.

The solemnity of the day is still recognized 100 years later.
