Subject: Re: How much snow in Western KS/NE

Cambridge, southwestern Nebraska
Feeling fortunate this morning with just an inch of snow and it is melting this morning. I haven't been out to see what the wind has done. It blew upwards of 50 mph for 48 hours with rain. I have 2.25" in the guage this morning. That gives us 6.00" since Oct. 6th and 18" since the first of July...that is nearly our annual average precipitation. I was concerned with my milo...all drilled and maybe the best I've ever had. I hope it clears and gets cold tonight to freeze everything hard. Not forecasting that, though.
I'm pretty sure I will have a couple hundred acres of corn down as stalk quality was already an issue before this. Harvesting and trucking will be a challenge through the harvest.
