There is no.such thing as too much reinforcement unless it takes up roo. For concrete. You'd be amazed some of the structural stuff I have poured and the rear used.




If you have too much reinforcement in a slab that's not thick enough, it WILL crack between the control joints. Seen it happen more than once. Very possible to get too much reinforcement. As far as wire mesh goes, no way to keep it off the bottom so it's useless. If someone doubts that, go tear up any slab that has wire in it and tell me where it is when you flip it over.
